Hello! I'm Alecia 👋

I was in first grade when I won my first writing award, so you could say I've always known what I love - to tell stories. I had two career paths I wanted to pursue as a kid - journalist or teacher. I never dreamt that I would eventually have my own unique way to do both.

When I didn't get accepted for the journalism course at university, I went a different way and called up the head of school. I somehow convinced her I was worth betting on and managed to find another way into my dream course.

Since then I launched a WA-state office for an international online magazine, managed a record label, edited health & fitness magazines, launched a housewares magazine, edited a fashion & lifestyle magazine, ran the custom publishing team for a newspaper and freelanced for major publications around the world.

While I still loved writing and unlocking people's stories, I became jaded with the media industry and decided to forge my own path launching Hancock Creative - an international education business for not-for-profits, social enterprises and causes working with causes around the world. It was the most rewarding, inspiring and challenging 11-years of my life. Sadly, due to COVID I had to make the hard decision to close the business, but I'm incredibly proud to have supported over 17,000 causes during that incredible journey.

Now, I'm bringing together my love of writing and teaching and creating great resources, talks, workshops and resources for organisations and people that resonate with me and who also want to change the world for the better.
