Let's face it, Facebook and Instagram ads can be a goldmine for reaching new customers and boosting outcomes. But the truth is, many brands waste tons of money because they simply throw spaghetti at the wall and hope it sticks.

Here's the reality: Facebook and Instagram Ads are some of the cheapest and most powerful advertising tools available today.

You can target your ideal customer with laser precision, track results in real-time, and adjust your strategy on the fly.

Before you dive into your next paid ad campaign, I wanted to share my tips on what you should and shouldn't do with paid Meta ads.

Here are the things you SHOULD NOT do.

Boost posts. Without any strategy, it is a really really fast way to spend money.

Target everyone. Unless you've got Coca-Cola kind of advertising money, this won't get you any measurable impact.

Drive people to you website home page. I see this a lot. You spend money on ads, only to send them to a generic website home page. Make sure the ads funnel people to somewhere specific with a clear next step.

Buy ads without a strategy. Wait until you have a clear strategy before you buy your first ads.

Here is what you SHOULD do.

Use the Ads Manager tool within Facebook to buy both your Facebook and Instagram ads.

Get laser clear on your ideal audience and narrow, narrow, narrow your ad audience so you're only paying to reach the right people.

Look at what ads other people are running and see what works.

Invest in learning. Your first ad is unlikely to be a winner. Take a class or explore Facebook's advertising best practices for ideas.

So cutting to the chase - do Facebook & Instagram ads work?

Absolutely. With the strong caveat that you need to know what you're doing and go into it with a strong strategy. 

Spend some time getting to know the platform and what works and you can get some seriously good outcomes.
